A Shelter for Homeless Women and Children

PLEASE NOTE:

Due to the current economic downfall, state and federal funding has either been cut or substantially reduced which has become a detriment to our shelters sustaining ability. We are in desperate need of monetary donations to help keep our organization thriving. If you have any questions on how you can help, then please feel free to call us at 310.631.5193 and ask for our Program Director, Mrs. LaCour. Please join us in the fight against homelessness in our community. It does takes a village.

Homeless women and women with children (0-10) years of age are our target population. To be eligible for our shelter program the client must be homeless, with a low income and geographically located within Region (6) which includes and is not limited to: Compton, Paramount, Lynwood, Carson, South Gate, Long Beach, Gardena and parts of the City of Los Angeles.

Compton Welfare Rights Organization, Inc. (CWRO, Inc.) is a Human and Social Service Program with a deliberate mission to provide free emergency shelter, on-site program services and community resources to poverty level families and individuals to increase their economic self-sufficiency and reduce their dependency on public assistance.

We are located in Compton, California and our program is an aggressive 60 day series geared towards future stability and self-sufficiency. Supervision is provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. If you are not willing to help change your life for the better, then we are not the shelter for you. We do not provide emergency shelter alone, we are advocates and promoters of homeless prevention such that our clients are realistically prepared to pursue their goals responsibly and with accountability while researching, learning and addressing their personal formula for success.

A very special thank you goes to the 2nd District, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas for their continuing support. To reach the 2nd District Office please feel free to Click here
